A collection round is the unit your whole operation is measured in, and for most operators it lives in a spreadsheet that one person owns. That works until they are on holiday, or until two people open it at once, or until the version on the depot wall is a fortnight behind the one on the server.

WasteOptix keeps rounds as records rather than cells. Each round has a profile, a current driver and a depot, and a history you can read back — which round ran, who ran it, and what came off it. The all-rounds view is for the morning; the single-round view is for the argument three weeks later about whether a collection happened.

Scheduling sits on the same records. You build next week by dragging, and bulk patterns handle the rounds that are the same every Tuesday — which is most of them. Agency and relief drivers are scheduled alongside permanent staff rather than pencilled in the margin, so the schedule matches who actually turned up.

Editing is permission-gated. A depot manager changes their own depot, a team leader changes their own rounds, and nobody changes a schedule they do not run — which is the difference between a shared system and a shared spreadsheet.
