Waste incident reporting software

Spills, complaints and incidents captured from first report to close-out, with photos and statements on one record — and recurring problems surfaced rather than buried.

Incidents are recorded badly almost everywhere, because they are recorded under pressure. A spill is dealt with first and written up later, a complaint is taken over the phone by whoever answered it, and the account that survives is whichever one got typed up.

WasteOptix captures the incident as a structured record from the first report through to close-out, so the write-up is the record rather than a summary of one. Photos, statements and outcomes attach to it, which keeps the evidence with the event instead of in an inbox.

The close-out matters as much as the capture. An incident that is logged and never resolved is worse than one that was never logged, because it is a documented problem you took no action on — which is precisely what an inspection is looking for.

Because incidents are records rather than emails, trends are visible. The same site, the same round or the same waste stream appearing repeatedly is the signal that something structural is wrong, and it is invisible if each report stops at the person who received it.

What it does

Structured capture

From first report through to close-out, on one record rather than a chain of messages.

Evidence attached

Photos, statements and outcomes held with the incident they belong to.

Close-out tracked

An open incident stays visibly open, so nothing is logged and then dropped.

Trends surfaced

Recurring sites, rounds and waste streams raised rather than left to be noticed.

What this replaces

  • A spill is dealt with on the day and written up from memory a week later
  • Complaints are held by whoever took the call
  • Photos of an incident sit in a phone gallery and never reach the record
  • The same problem recurs at the same site for a year before anyone connects them
